I want to study product design at an art school
And i want to be near a big city with an an art/design scene.
so far the only options are super-expensive Rhode Island School of Design and Parsons. I think the best schools are probably in scandinavia, because so many excellent designers come from there, but i dont speak danish/norwegian/swedish so thats a no-go. in europe my only option is the UK, but are they known for their design schools?
how likely is it for me to find a job coming fresh out of an art-school, as opposed to getting a liberal arts education focusing on design?
i am thinking that if am going to go to a state or a UC or CUNY or something, i might as well learn the technical stuff myself, like the programs and stuff
A Waldorf Graduate
The quotes from Steiner below need to be taken in context. The man was a German scholar who worked in a Cigar factory and did lectures around Europe during a time when things like racism, cultural identity and Euro centrism were not even concepts yet.
Saying that Waldorf Schools are all evil or brainwashing their students because of some ancient lecture given by the guy who developed the school, is ridiculous.
Waldorf Schools have been teaching bright children (of ALL ethnicities, cultural backgrounds and economic status) for years. The modern Waldorf School is very different from the early class rooms in the Waldorf Cigar Factory in Germany
